About

Dirliebane (meaning funny bone in Scots) Theatre Company creates clown theatre performances for children, young people and their families.

Our shows involve gentle, character clowning that creates naïve, optimistic, fun, light characters that children and young people can engage with.

Artistic Team

The Artistic Directors, Fiona Ferrier and Rachel Colles, have extensive experience in clown devising, performing and improvising for children and young people through their tours of BIG and SPACE, and working as Clowndoctors for the Arts-in-Health charity Hearts and Minds. In our work we use slapstick, humour, rhythm, music, improvising and storytelling to create open, playful and interactive engagement with children and young people.
