Get Ready to Giggle
We are really excited to be collaborating with Perth Theatre on HOOT! – our Children’s Comedy Theatre Festival.
HOOT! is a funny theatre festival for children aged 0-12 and their families. Bursting with performances, workshops, walkabout entertainment, interaction and participation. It’s all about silliness, laughter and shared fun. We believe laughter is for everyone and want babies, children and families from across Perth & Kinross to join us!

In the Joan Knight Studio we have BIG and SPACE (Dirliebane), The Cabinet of Musical Wonders (The Tenement Jazz Band), Two in a Barrel (Sarah Rose Graber & Ruxy Cantir), The Laurel & Hardy Cabaret (Lucky Dog Theatre Productions), Four Go Wild in Wellies (Indepen-dance)and the premiere of Toast with lots of butter (lovebug + worm).
In The Space there are performances of Game, Set and Juggle (Think Circus) and Absolute Kidprov (TBC Improv). There is a plethora of workshops and play sessions to pick from, with something for every age group; How to Slip on a Banana, How to Fall off a Chair, (both from Dirliebane), Just Laugh – Learn How to Laugh for No Reason Whatsoever (Caroline Mathieson), Circus Workshop (Think Circus), BLAST! Play sessions (Dirliebane), Creative Play with Babies (Tim Licata) and Imagination in Action – Intro to Improv (TBC Improv).
And that’s not all! In the Foyer there is walkabout theatre on Saturday 10 October from The Prom Pom Queen (Kerry Cleland), Dash, Dot and Minim (Dirliebane) and Darlin’ Bottlebrush (Bec Phipps) and on Sunday 11 October Windbags (Ronan McMahon), Where are you? (Marion Georffray) and The Refs (Sarah Rose Graber & Ruxy Cantir).
And Perth Youth Theatre will also be performing walkabout theatre on both days.
Also in the Foyer there will be activities to get the whole family giggling! Step up to The Joke Spot and share your best jokes with the crowd; Knock Knock on the door, see who answers, and tell your favourite Knock Knock joke; reveal the true Unbelievable and Ridiculous Perth Stories of famous places in and around our city; dive into The Dress-Up Box and try on some of the silliest and funniest costumes from the Perth Theatre wardrobe.
